‘DNA’

– Review

Atharvaa and Nimisha Sajayan, each with a complex past, enter into an arranged marriage and establish a seemingly happy and ordinary life together.
Their contentment is further enhanced by the expectation of their first child.
However, when Nimisha alleges that the infant presented to her is not their biological offspring, Atharvaa finds himself unexpectedly embroiled in a far-reaching and intricate investigation.

Directed by Nelson Venkatesan, the film’s narrative is deeply engaging, particularly in the first half, which sets up an intimate mystery that immediately grabs the audience’s attention.

The second half gains momentum as Atharvaa’s quest intensifies.
While generally well-paced and edited tightly, the inclusion of a few songs slightly interrupt the narrative flow.
Atharvaa delivers one of his finest performances, bringing sincerity and emotional intensity to his role as Anand.
His portrayal of a man grappling with a profound mystery and emotional turmoil is heartfelt.
Nimisha Sajayan delivers a subtle, nuanced performance as Divya.
Her ability to convey complex emotions and the internal struggles of her character, especially as she deals with the mysterious child, is a major strength of the movie.
The chemistry between Atharvaa and Nimisha is also warm and believable.
The cinematography beautifully capturing the film’s mood. Ghibran’s background score is evocative and enhancing the emotional texture of the film.
