Cricket and politics
Blue Star
– Review
Ranjith and Sam, two brothers, have a huge association with cricket. They lock horns with Rajesh, a man who works for a moneylender and create a ruckus for a playground where they play cricket regularly.
As both their teams continue to oppose each other, an incident forces both of them to join hands and come together as a single union.
What is the reason behind the conflict, and who emerges as the winner forms the rest of the story.
Directed by S Jayakumar, the first half of the film is busy as it explains the characters, keeps things going with high moments regularly.
The momentum dips a bit in the second half and follows the regular sports drama formula. The final moments of the movie are executed in an effective manner.
Ashok Selvan delivers a solid performance fitting strongly into his role. The film has him in a different look and he has delivered his part exceedingly well.
Shanthanu has a very nice arc for himself and has done great justice to the role. Prithvi Pandiarajan is a nice fit too and delivers what was expected from him.
Keerthi Pandian has a role that is not the usual heroine type and has done complete justice to her character.
Camerawork by Tamizh Azhagan is impressive and music by Govind Vasantha is good.
