Carrying a message

‘Badava’

– Movie Review

Vemal and Soori are having a good time in a village in Sivaganga district.
They get drunk often and torture the villagers as much as they can.
Unable to bear their cruelty, the village breaks up and sends Vemal to Malaysia.
When the village is at peace without him, he suddenly arrives. He is treated with royal respect in the village on his arrival.
What changed during Vemal’s stay in Malaysia and how is he treated well all of a sudden forms the core plot of the story.
Director K V Anandha has made the movie with a strong message.. While the first half of the movie us fun and entertaining, the second half carries an important message wirh regards to ‘Karuvelai Trees’.
Vemal and Soori have temaed up once again. Though they have done similar characters in the past, this one is still fresh.
As usual Vemal has delivered a natural performance and has carried the role with ease.
Soori on the other hand has complimented the story well and the humour reaches the audience well.
Rest of the cast including Shriritta, Ramachandra Raju, and Ramar have all done their part well.
John Peter’s background score is impressive and has complimented the story well. Cinematography by Ramalingam is impressive. Rest of the technical aspects are good as well.

Rating: 3.7/5
