‘Ayali’ – Review by Naveen

Educative and entertaining

– Review

The story is Ayali about the journey of a girl who defies the superstitious beliefs of her village to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor.

A village near Pudukottai gets the girls married as soon as they attain puberty.

However, Tamilselvi from the village wants to become a doctor and along with her mother she hides attaining puberty. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Director Muthukumar has taken up a sensitive topic and has delivered it in an effective manner.

Not just about education for girls, he also touches upon various issues. Abhi Natchathra who plays the role of Tamilselvi has done complete justice to her character.

She has understood her role and delivers the essence effectively. Anumol as Tamilselvi’s mother has got a meaty role and is impressive.

Rest of the cast including Singampuli, Lovelyn Chandrasekar, Linga and others have all done their part well.

The technical aspects are appreciable as well.
