A journey filled with emotions
“Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai”
– Movie Review
Stepbrothers Pawan and Aadukulam Naren are fighting with each other over the rights of performing the last rites of their father Narayanaperumal.
Vemal is the ambulance driver who is incharge of transporting Narayanaperumal’s dead body to his native village.
Vemal needs money for the delivery of his wife Mery Rickets who is admitted in the hospital.
On the way, Vemal gives a lift to a theatre artiste Karunas, as he needs him to push the old van which keeps stopping.
Things go haywire on the way and Vemal finds out that someone has stolen the corpse from the van.
What happens next? Does Vemal retrieve the body? Who stole the body and what is their purpose forms the crux of the story.
Directed by Michael K Raja, the premise of the film is very interesting. Though the first half is a tad slow, the film picks up pace in the second half.
The narration of the movie is very engaging in most parts of the movie.
As usual, Vemal handles his role in an effective manner and does complete justice to the character.
Karunas steals the show with his act as the simple hearted theatre artist.
Rest of the cast including Mery Rickets, Aadukalam Naren, Deepa Shankar, Charles Vinoth, Manoj Kumar, Pawan and Aruldoss have all done their part well.
NR.Raghunandan’s music is one of the biggest strengths of the movie. Demil Xavier Edwards’ camerawork is impressive. Rest of the technical aspects are okay as well.
Rating: 3.75/5
