– Review

Eight-year-old Kalyani wishes to visit Sabarimala. However, she has to face hurdles after hurdles before realising her dream.

But after a personal tragedy, she decides to undertake the journey. She is accompanied by her classmate.

What happens during their journey and was Kalyani able to make it to Sabarimala forms the rest of the story.

Director Vishnu Sasi Shankar has decently converted the story and screenplay for Abhilash Pillai in the movie.

There are no hefty ideas or layered narratives and the storytelling is very simple.

Devinadha who plays the role of Kalyani has done a tremendous job. She has carried the role in an effective manner.

She is ably supported by Sreepath in his role which is humorous.

Unni Mukundan’s screen presence takes the movie to a different level altogether. He has done complete justice to the character without going overboard anywhere.

The dialogues in Tamil are very close to that of the original versions.

The essence of the movie has been kept intact in the dubbed version as well. Rest of the cast have also done their part well.

Ranjin Raj’s songs go along well with the film. Vishnu Narayanan’s cinematography takes the audience through the journey.

Rating: 3.5/5
