Ill-effects of smartphones

Dopamine@2.22

– Review

Dopamine is about seven smartphone addicts as they face an impending murder at 2:22 PM.

This murder plot serves as a backdrop to illustrate how technology can isolate individuals in their own worlds.

The film showcases various types of digital dependency, from Instagram-obsessed couples to gossiping mothers and gambling addicts.

The movie gives a glimpse into the lives of these character and also speaks about how digital devices affect each of their lives.

Director Dhirav has presented some intriguing concepts and the making is also good. The writing and the execution could have been better.

Conveying  a message to the audience seems to be the main motive of the movie and the director has succeeded in it in a convincing manner.

With so many sub plota involved it becomes difficult keep track of everything.

All the lead actors including Dhirav, Ravi Elumalai, Raghav, Sakthi, Samson, Nikhila Shankar and Sathya have all deliverd what was expected from them.

Performance of these actors is one of the biggest strengths of the movie.

Each of them have understood their roles and have played their part well.

Alan Soji’s music adds more value to the proceedings and Prithivi’s Rajendran’s camerawork is impressive.

Rating: 3.3/5
