Tanya Ravichandran, granddaughter of veteran actor Ravichandran, carved a niche for herself in Kollywood by playing roles with substance.
And now, she is all set to make her Tollywood debut, in Kartikeya’s film. The movie will be directed by debutant Sri Saripalli.
The project was announced by the makers as a birthday gift to Kartikeya, who was born on September 21. Kartikeya will be playing the role of an NIA officer in this film, which will also have Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Sudhakar Komakula and Pasupathy in crucial roles.
Tanya is notable for her work in films including ‘Balle Vellaiyathevaa’ (2016), ‘Brindavanam’ (2017) and ‘Karuppan’ (2017).
Tanya was interested in a career in films from a young age after seeing her grandfather’s work. Her mother, Lavanya Sriram, is a classical dancer and thus trained both Tanya and her sister Apparajitha in Bharathanatyam, with the pair regularly participating in recitals in Chennai during their teenage years.
Before her entry into the film industry, she completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women in Chennai and pursued a master’s degree at Madras School of Social Work.
