Actor Ramarajan has become the latest from the film industry to become victim to Covid-19. The ‘Karagattakaaran’ and ‘Enga Ooru Paatukaaran’ actor has tested positive for coronavirus and was hospitalised.
According to sources, Ramarajan is currently getting treatment at the King’s Institute Covid-19 hospital at Guindy in Chennai and his condition is said to be stable.
“He is alright and he will be discharged in some days. There is nothing to worry about his health,” sources said. It is suspected that Ramarajan acquired the infection from an AC mechanic.
Ramarajan was called the rural box office king in the late 1980s. He has worked in more than 40 films and has directed more than 10 films. Many of his films based on village-based subjects were a big hit in B and C centres.
He took a plunge in politics and managed to become an MP. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Tiruchendur constituency on the AIADMK ticket in 1998.
