Veteran distributor Tirupur Subramaniam is all praise for Rajinikanth. He said that the superstar always wants everyone who is involved in the trade of his films- from producer to distributor to theatre owners- to make profit and ensured it.
Stating that Rajinikanth did ‘Velaikkaran’ without taking money from the producer and gave compensation to distributors when ‘Baba’ did not do well in the box-office, Subramaniam says these were not done by any other ‘heroes’.
He said that Rajinikanth, at one point of time, had asked the rights for North Arcot, South Arcot and Chengalpattu areas as his salary. Subramaniam added, “Today, many heroes are hiking their salary which is an unhealthy trend for the industry. He had a magnanimous heart to ask only the salary which thought he deserved.”
Only recently, former Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath had revealed that Rajinikanth is one of his favourite actors. In a chat with R Ashwin, the cricketer also spilled the beans on his meeting with Rajinikanth during his playing days.
“I have met him a couple of times. Once I met him at the airport and he even offered to drop me home. It was so nice of him to say that at the Bangalore airport,” Srinath said.
Heaping laurels on Rajini, he said, “He bring tremendous energy into your life. I mean, even if you are depressed, go and watch Rajinikanth movie. His screen presense, that little extra bit that he brings into the movie. All of that makes me truly love him.”
