Superstar Rajinikanth has heaped laurels on late producer, story writer, and director Panchu Arunachalam, saying that though legendary filmmaker K Balachander had introduced him in the industry, it was Panchu Arunachalam who made a big artiste.
In the recently launched trailer of the documentary ‘The Star Maker Panchu Arunachalam’, uploaded by BOFTA Film Institute, Rajinikanth said: “Balachander sir introduced me to Tamil cinema but Panchu sir made me a big artist.”
The superstar added: “Nearly 70 per cent of my film ‘Aarilirunthu Aarubathuvarai’ happened in his life. He is a selfless person and never thought about himself in life and everyone in the industry knows about it”.
‘Engeyo Keta Kural’, ‘Thambikku Entha Ooru’, ‘Guru Sishyan’, ‘Kazhugu’, ‘Pandian’, ‘Dharmadurai’, ‘Raja Chinna Roja’, ‘Rajadhi Raja’, ‘Manithan’, and ‘Veera’ are among the films in which Rajini and Panchu had worked together.
