Actress Renu Desai and her son Akira recently watched Venkatesh Maha’s ‘Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya’, which has Satyadev, Hari Chandana, Roopa Koduvayur, Naresh and Suhas in key roles, on OTT platform and are all praise for the movie.
“Akira and I saw Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya on Netflix yesterday. I really thought that a 16yr old who is used to watching commercial films of his dad or uncles or cousins, might not like a sensitive different narrative.
I thought after watching 10-15 mins of watching he will walk away from the TV room. To my surprise, he thoroughly enjoyed the film, its humour, its gentle paced narration and he was invested in the film and characters till the last frame,” Renu posted.
She added: “It’s been constantly told to us as film makers that the “youth” need mass & action to enjoy a movie otherwise the young audience will not watch it. I firmly believe that good films don’t have an age concept. We just have to make good movies and let the audience decide what they want to watch.”
Replying to her, Venkatesh Maha wrote: “That’s amazing!!! I am really glad that akira liked it! Thanks for watching the film and also showing it to akira @renuudesai garu! That’s so nice of you to share this! You made my day!!”
A remake of 2016 Malayalam hit ‘Maheshinte Prathikaaram’, the film tells the story of a photographer from Araku who vows not to put on his footwear till he takes revenge on the man who humiliated him.
