Vijay is said to be upset with a distribution house named Rasi Media Makers, which has bought the Tamil dubbing rights of Malayalam film ‘Marconi Mathai’ in which he has played a cameo.
The reason- Rasi Media Makers is publicising the movie as if it is a straight Tamil film and Vijay Sethupathi is playing the lead role in it. Published posters saying that it’s the first production venture of the company have apparently disappointed the actor.
‘Marconi Mathai’ is a 2019 comedy drama film written and directed by Sanil Kalathil, who directed ‘Uthara’. The film starring Jayaram, Vijay Sethupathi and Athmiya Rajan marked Vijay Sethupathi’s debut in Malayalam cinema and the 100th film appearance of actor comedian Aju Varghese.
The film released on 11 July 2019, received mixed reviews. The story goes like this: Mathai (Jayaram) is an ex-soldier, who is now working as a security guard. He is friendly with all. He is fondly called ‘Marconi’ as he tunes the radio signals for all in the village.
After the sweeper at the bank where Mathai is a security passes away, a new girl named Anna (Athmiya Rajan) joins in her place. She is a cute girl and wins everyone’s hearts. Mathai loves her but is hesitant to tell her that.
