Samantha Akkineni has said people never valued food and they just take it for granted. It is to be noted that the acress has been growing her own edible garden at her Hyderabad residence.
In a video message, she said, “We have really taken food for granted and never valued food. We simply order on our mobile phones and the food eaches us. When this pandemic started, Chay and I rushed to the supermarket and listed out the groceries and what we should buy.”
The ‘Rangasthalam’ and ‘Seema Raja’ actress said further: “We asked ourselves how many days we can manage with the groceries and vegetables. At the end of the day, it all boiled down to our health and the food we eat.”
“When you don’t see a clear path, planting is a healing process,” she added.
Samantha recently asked fans to become fellow ‘gangsta gardeners’ and plant a seed.
Posting pictures of her newly grown lettuce, she wrote, “I finally found something I am passionate about that is not part of my job .. I was starting to get tired of answering people when they asked me ‘What is your hobby?’ …Me -‘Acting’ … Them – ‘But that’s your job. What is your hobby ?’….”
In a latest post, she said, “Gardening is a game changer . Planting a seed can bring change. “Eat Healthy” we hear this far too many times … but I am telling you “Grow Healthy” is even more simpler. All it takes is a little time and a little effort . And since 2020 still needs us to ‘Stay home and stay safe ‘ I think we can manage.”
