Days after actors Vimal aka Vemal and ‘Parotta’ Suri were fined Rs 2,000 each by the Tamil Nadu Forest department for trespassing into a forest area in Kodaikanal, a police complaint has now been filed against them for traveling to Kodaikanal without obtaining e-pass.
Since it was found during the investigation that Vimal and Suri travelled to Kodaikanal without getting e-pass, a police complaint has been filed against them. Appropriate action will be taken soon, sources said.
The incident that happened on July 17 came to light after photos of Vimal and Suri fishing in Berijam Lake surfaced on social media recently. Following this, residents and activists made an outcry and a complaint was lodged with Kodaikanal Deputy Superintendent of Police Aathmanaban.
In the meantime, the Forest department has levied Rs 2,000 fine each on the actors. It is also learnt that an eco-watcher and two anti-poaching watchers have been sacked for helping Vimal and Suri.
