Vijay Sethupathi, due to his speech on God(s) at the audio launch of Vijay-starrer ‘Master’ some months ago, faced allegations of being part of Christian conversion mission. At that time, he responded to critics with a terse tweet: ‘Poi vera velai irundha paarungada’.
And now, with a video by YouTube channel Karuppar Koottam hurting the sentiments of Hindus and triggering a huge controversy, many film celebrities have been openly condemning those behind the clip.
In a recent interview, Vijay Sethupathi has said he likes Lord Muruga a lot. “When I went to Palani for the shoot of ‘Junga’ in 2018, I went to the hill temple and had the darshan of Lord Muruga. However, when I went to Palani in 2019 again, I did not go to temple, but offered prayers from the foothill itself. Because, during my visit in 2018, fans gathered in large numbers and this caused disturbance to others,” he said.
The ‘Sethupathi’ and ‘Soodhu Kavvum’ actor is currently part of a bunch of films, including ‘Master’ in which he plays the antagonist to Vijay, ‘Kadisi Vivasayi’, ‘Maamanithan’, ‘Laabam’, ‘Ka Pe Ranasingam’, ‘Tughlaq Darbar’, ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ and ‘Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir’.
