Kamal-Shankar’s ‘Indian 2’ to be dropped?

‘Indian 2’, a mega budget project involving big names like Kamal Haasan, director Shankar and Lyca Productions, has been witnessing one hurdle after another.

First the shoot was delayed due to various reasons. Then a ghastly mishap took place on the sets of the movie, killing three persons. Now the shoot of the mega budget film has come to a halt due to coronavirus lockdown.

Hence, reports in a section of the media are claiming that the makers are planning to shelve the project. However, there is no confirmation about this and a clarity is expected to emerge once the lockdown is lifted.

The film has a star-studded cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Vivek, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Rakul Preet Singh. Anirudh Ravichander was roped in to score music. Cinematography and editing are handled by R Rathnavelu and A Sreekar Prasad, respectively.

‘Indian 2’ is a vigilante action thriller film directed by S Shankar. A sequel to the 1996 film ‘Indian’, the film is being produced by Subaskaran Allirajah‘s Lyca Productions.
