For a long time now, there have been speculations that ‘Thuppakki’, the 2012 blockbuster of Vijay and director A R Murugadoss, would have a sequel. Cinematographer Santosh Sivan has dropped a hint on this now.
The ace cameraman, who had recently worked with Murugadoss in superstar Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Darbar’, posted a picture from the popular twelve-man-shoot-out scene in ‘Thuppakki’, triggering speculations that they are going to soon join hands for the sequel of the film.
After delivering three hits- ‘Thuppakki’, ‘Kaththi’ and ‘Sarkar’, it looks like the duo of Vijay and Murugadoss are set to join hands once again. If sources are to be believed, the two would come together for a sequel to their earlier hit ‘Thuppakki’.
“Harris Jayaraj would score the music. Other details are being worked out and an official announcement is expected soon,” sources said. Vijay is currently busy with ‘Master’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. ‘Thuppakki’ is a 2012 action thriller film written and directed by Murugadoss. It stars Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal, with Sathyan, Vidyut Jammwal and Jayaram in supporting roles.
The film revolves around an Indian Army officer on a mission to track down, destroy and deactivate a sleeper cell, after witnessing and barely escaping a bomb blast executed by the cell.
