Chiranjeevi announces quitting politics, says no regrets

Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi has announced completely quitting politics. The actor, who started his own party, later merged it with the Congress and served as Union Minister too, it may be recalled.

In an interview, Chiranjeevi, who has started focussing on cinema again, said that he is not cut out for a world where honesty offers no or little rewards. And he added that he has no regrets about it.

He also said that he would act in the Telugu remake of ‘Lucifer’ in the direction of Sujith (of ‘Saaho’ fame). At preset, the top star working on ‘Acharya’, a political action drama which is being directed by Koratala Siva.

Malayalam movie ‘Lucifer’, directed by actor Prithviraj, featured Mohanlal in the lead role and revolved around what happens after the ‘death’ of a political bigwig. The film received rave reviews and emerged as a runaway hit.
