Following the failure of her recent venture ‘Jaanu’, a remake of a Tamil super hit ’96’, Samantha Akkineni was labeled as ‘flop heroine’ by a few sections of the media, despite the actress delivering many blockbusters in Tollywood.
Reacting to it, she said in a recent media interaction, “Even if a star hero gets three back-to-back flops, people would still go and watch his fourth film in the theaters. For them, the walking of their favourite hero on the screen is enough. But, unfortunately, they blame the heroine for the film’s flop.”
She further said: “Just because ‘Oh! Baby’ turned out to be a big hit, I cannot do another women-centric project as people might not accept a solo film again.’
“Also, I don’t understand why women don’t get equally paid like men. Women are working as hard as women,” the ‘Rangasthalam’ and ‘Eega’ actress added.
Recently, there were rumours that Samantha was pregnant and had even walked out of Vignesh Shivan’s Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal which stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.
