Trisha, who has been roped in to play a key role in Mani Ratnam’s multilingual magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, has been preparing herself for the mega project.
Since the film is base on a legendary Tamil novel written by Kalki, the actress has been reading its Hindi version to make herself familiar with the story and its characters.
According to sources, Trisha’s role in the film is Kundhavai, the bold and daring Chola princess and she would play the elder sister to Jayam Ravi and the love interest of Karthi.
Aftter completing the first schedule of his magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ in Thailand, Mani Ratnam has started shooting for the second in Puducherry.
According to sources, a grand palace set has been erected for the second schedule and Jayam Ravi has joined the team. Sources inform that the ace director is planning to complete the entire shoot of the film this year.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Lal, Rahman, and Kishore among others play key roles in ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The film has musical score by Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman.
