Though ‘Brahmastra’, a multilingual multistarrer which has Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in lead roles was slated to hit the screens in 2019 itself, it didn’t make it due to VFX works.
Now, Amitabh and Karan Johar (producer) have announced fresh release date of the movie. Amitabh tweeted: “T 3429 BRAHMĀSTRA.. coming to cinemas on 4/12/20 & Ayan is NOT allowed to change it now!”
Karan, who shared a picture of Amitabh Bachchan, Alia, Ranbir and Ayan hiding his face with his palm, holding a board that said ‘4th December, 2020’.
He wrote: “It’s final! Brahmāstra releases on 4th December, 2020 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada! #Brahmastra.” Alia also shared a funny video showing a frustrated Ranbir venting out to Ayan about the delay in release.
‘Brahmastra’ is an upcoming 2020 Indian Hindi-language superhero film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, and produced by Karan Johar. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Akkineni Nagarjuna in pivotal roles and will serve as the first film in a planned trilogy
Principal photography began in Bulgaria in February 2018 and the film is scheduled for release on 4 December 2020 in standard formats, 3D, and IMAX.
