After the Censor board had objected to the the title ‘Psycho’ and had asked director Mysskin to change it, the filmmaker has approached the revising committee of CBFC asking it to reconsider the decision.
According to sources, “besides suggesting a few mutes and cuts, and the officials had also directed Mysskin to change the title because there are certain guidelines about the use of words that relate to mental illness.”
They add: “However, Mysskin feels that ‘Psycho’ would be the apt title for the movie. Hence, he has approached the revising committee of Central Board of Film Certification. He is hoping for a positive reply soon.”
The teaser of the movie, which runs for 70 seconds, was released by Mani Ratnam recently. It reveals that the film is a murder mystery and Udhayanidhi plays a visually challenged man in the film. One of the highlights of the teaser, apart from visuals, is the musical score by maestro Ilayaraja.
Aditi Rao Hyadri, Nithya Menen and director Ram play key roles in ‘Psycho’, produced by Double Meaning Productions. The film has camera by Tanvir Mir. Sources say that Udhayanidhi is pinning big hopes on ‘Psycho’ and considers it as one of the important films in his career.
