Superstar Rajinikanth has made a promise to the people of Tamil Nadu, that he would not disappoint them. He said this at the grand audio launch event of ‘Darbar’ in Chennai on Saturday night.
“Balachander sir believed in me and launched me in cinema. His faith in me didn’t go waste. Producers are investing money in films featuring me, their confidence is not going waste. Likewise, I want you all to trust me and I won’t disappoint you. The world just needs love to live peacefully, and everyone should keep that in mind,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rajini Makkal Mandram has issued a statement, in which it has said that the superstar has not endorsed anyone ahead of the local body elections in Tamil Nadu.
In the statement, the Mandram’s administrator VM Sudhakar said, “Our beloved leader Rajinikanth has not given his support to anyone ahead of the local body elections that are due in Tamil Nadu. Therefore, if anyone canvasses for votes using the name of Rajini Makkal Mandram, Rajini Fan Club, the flag of Rajini Makkal Mandram, the symbol, name or photograph of our leader, legal action will be taken.”
Rajinikanth, who converted his fan clubs into Rajini Makkal Mandram, is expected to start a political party next year and would contest in 2021 Assembly elections.
