Superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, it looks like, are set to work together after a long gap of nearly four decades. But they won’t be sharing the screen space. Instead, the latter is likely to produce a film starring the former.
According to sources, Rajkamal Films International, the production house of Kamal, will bankroll an upcoming film of Rajinikanth which will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of ‘Maanagaram’ and ‘Kaithi’ fame, who is currently helming Vijay’s next movie tentatively titled ‘Thalapathy-64’.
Sources say it will be one of the biggest films in the history of Tamil cinema and an official announcement will be held soon. Rajinikanth, who recently wrapped work on AR Murugadoss-directed ‘Darbar’, will soon start his next film with director Siruthai Siva, under the production of Sun Pictures.
“Shooting for the Rajini-Kamal-Lokesh Kanagaraj film will start somtime in the middle of next year. After that, Rajinikanth will start his political party and will enter politics full-time, ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections,” sources add.
