Popular Malayalam actor Lal has revealed that he will be part of ace director Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, which already has a string of top stars in its cast.
Speaking to the media, Lal said that he recently underwent a training session on horse riding for his role in the film. It is to be noted that the actor was earlier approached for Mani Ratnam’s ‘Kadal’, but he couldn’t accept the offer due to busy commitments.
Hence, he is now thrilled to work with Mani Ratnam. ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, shooting for which is expected to commence soon, will have Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Keerthy Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, and Mohan Babu in key roles.
Mani Ratnam, who is getting ready to commence his magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, will do it in Thailand, sources in the know said. “Thailand has many places which have close resemblance to ancient Tamil Nadu. Hence, some important portions of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ will be shot there,” sources stated.
The film, to be jointly produced by Lyca and Madras Talkies, boasts an ensemble of actors. After ‘Iruvar’, ‘Guru’ and ‘Raavanan’, Mani Ratnam has once again roped in Aishwarya Rai for ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. Speaking at a recent event in Chennai, Aishwarya said, “It’s an honour to work with him again. Yes I’m doing the film but it will be unfair to divulge any other details as he would be officially announcing it soon.”
