Stalin meets Kamal Haasan at hospital, wishes speedy recovery

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president and Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly, M K Stalin, visited Makkal Needhi Maiam founder-president Kamal Haasan at the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on Friday, after the actor-politician underwent a surgery on his leg.

“Stalin was accompanied by leaders like Durai Murugan and Suba Veerapandian. He wished Kamal speedy recovery and enquired about his health condition. The meeting lasted for around 15 minutes,” sources said.

Kamal Haasan underwent a surgical procedure on Friday for the removal of an implant placed in his leg after he suffered a fracture in 2016. In a statement on Thursday, MNM vice-president Dr R Mahendran said, “Due to his busy schedule in politics and film commitments, there has been a postponement of the procedure for removal of the implant.”

He added: “However, now upon his doctor’s advice Kamal Haasan will be getting admitted in hospital for the surgical procedure on November 22 to remove the implant. Furthermore, he has been compelled to take a break for the next few weeks to physically recoup.”
