The ‘miracle’ debate kickstarted by Rajinikanth witnessed a fresh turn on Thursday, when the superstar said in the 2021 Assembly elections 100 per cent people would create a ‘very big mircale and wonder.’ These remarks earned immediate reaction from Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.
Speaking to reporters at the Chennai airport, Rajinikanth, who returned from Goa where he he was honoured with the Icon of Golden Jubilee Award at the 50th edition of the International Film Festival of India, said,”100 out of 100
per cent people will create a ‘very big miracle and wonder’ in the
2021 Assembly polls”.
When asked who would be the Chief Minister if he and Makkal Needhi Maiam founder Kamal Haasan came together for the Assembly polls, Rajinikanth said it would be decided at the time of elections.
“When I float my party and after holding discussions with the party cadres,
a decision will be taken at that time (during Assembly polls). Till then I did not want to talk about it,” he said.
Within minutes of Rajini’s press meet, the Chief Minister had an interaction with the media. Asked about the superstar’s remarks, he said, “I do not know on what basis Rajini has predicted miracle happening in 2021; perhaps he has meant the return of the AIADMK rule after winning the elections”.
It all started on Sunday last, when Rajinikanth, speaking at the birthday concert of Kamal, said Palaniswami becoming the CM was a miracle. These remarks of him earned condemnation from State Ministers.
