Amid the buzz of a possible political alliance between Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, the two top stars of Tamil film industry on Tuesday said that they would not hesitate to joni hands if a need arises.
Kamal told the media earlier in the day that he was ready for an alliance (with Rajinikanth) if the need arose for that. Later, talking to reporters at the Chennai airport, Rajini, who was on his way to Goa where he will be honoured at the IFFI today, said if a need arises he will join hands with Kamal in the interest of Tamil Nadu.
While Kamal said, “If there is a need for both us to join hands and travel together we will do so in the interest and development of Tamil Nadu,” Rajini’s reaction was: ““If the situation demands and there is a need for us to proceed together in politics in the interest of the people, we will forge ahead and travel unitedly.”
Rajini said he did not want to comment on Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam condemning him for his remarks on CM Edappadi K Palaniswami. Besides OPS, many other Ministers have also differed with Rajini’s comments.
Speaking at Kamal’s birthday function in Chennai on Sunday, Rajini said, “Two years ago, Palaniswami might not even have dreamt of becoming Chief
Minister. And when became the CM, many said, he would not last even for a few months. But, he has survived for more than two years. It is a miracle. Miracles happened yesterday. They are happening today and will happen tomorrow.”
