Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder and actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan called on BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the latter’s residence in Bhubaneswar.
Amid reports that Kamal would receive a honorary doctorate from an Odisha-based university, the actor-politician said he met Naveen Patnaik to seek his advice for the future political journey.
“I had a wonderful meeting with the Chief Minister. Basically it is a one-sided receiving of advice. I asked many questions to which he had some great answers which can’t be discussed here. We are happy that we found time to meet him,” Kamal said.
Kamal added Naveen has an unprecedented political career, and he has been watching and learning a lot from the Odisha Chief Minister. “We are happy to speak one-on-one with him and get his wisdom and experience which we can use in any part of India for politics,” he stated.
He also said his and superstar Rajinikanth’s concerns for Tamil Nadu are similar, which is a reason they sound alike. “Mr Rajini and I have a celebrated friendship for nearly 43 years from now and that remains. Our concerns for Tamil Nadu are also similar, may be not the ideologies but concerns. So, we are very friendly towards each other, which is not usually found in politics.”
