If there is one director who is now much sought after in Kollywood, it has to be Lokesh Kanagaraj. The ‘Maanagaram’ maker has become a hot property thanks to the success of Karthi-starrer ‘Kaithi’, which hit the screens for Deepavali along with Vijay’s ‘Bigil’.
While Lokesh is currently busy directing Vijay’s upcoming movie tentatively titled ‘Thalapathy 64’, he has given his nod to make a sequel to ‘Kaithi’, with Karthi playing the lead role in the second part too.
Amid reports that he would make a movie titled ‘Irumbukai Maayavi’ with Suriya, there is a buzz that the young filmmaker would direct Kamal Haasan as well. It is to be noted that Lokesh Kanagaraj has earlier revealed in many of his interviews that he is an ardent fan of Kamal Hassan.
Lokesh had also said that the character of Karthi (Dilli) in ‘Kaithi’ is inspired by Kamal Hassan’s ‘Virumandi’. According to reports, Lokesh recently got a call from Raaj Kamal Films International offering him a role to direct Kamal.
Being an ardent fan of the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’, Lokesh immediately given his nod to the film which is likely to go on floors after ‘Thalapathy 64’. It is learnt that his projects with Suriya and Karthi would wait till he completes Kamal project.
