Simbu aka STR has resumed shooting for ‘Maanaadu’ directed by Venkat Prabhu. According to sources, he has made a promise to producer Suresh Kamatchi to complete his portions in the movie in just 40 days. Also, Simbu has started ‘viratham’ to Sabarimala to maintain discipline.
Sources close to the producer said, “We are happy to have STR back on the sets of the movie. We sincerely hope that he would stick to the promise and extend complete cooperation to the movie in the best interest of everyone involved.”
Earlier, Simbu was removed from the project due to his alleged non-cooperation. Later, a meditation meeting was held at Tamil Film Producers Council in which Suresh Kamatchi and Simbu’s mother Usha Rajendhar took part . It is learnt that while Usha maintained that Simbu’s dates had not been utilised effectively by the production house, Suresh Kamatchi accused Simbu of not turning up for the shoot, even after receiving an advance amount of Rs 2 crore.
Finally, thanks to intervention from office-bearers of the council, an amicable solution was arrived at, as per which Usha has promised that her son would regularly attend the shoot and would offer full cooperation in completing the movie.
In a statement in August, Kamatchi said that despite repeated attempts, there were only delays and no sign of the film going on floors. To ensure that his relationship with STR doesn’t sour, he had chosen to drop the actor from the project, he added. For his part, Venkat Prabhu tweeted: “It’s very unfortunate that I couldn’t work with my brother #str in #maanaadu Everything is time-bounded.”
