Pirates release Vijay’s ‘Bigil’ online

There seems to be no stopping for piracy websites, despite stringent legal measures. Hours after Vijay-starrer ‘Bigil’ hit the screens amid much expectations, it was leaked online by the notorious Tamil Rockers.

This has shocked the movie’s production team which has launched steps to take the pirated version down. Meanwhile, ‘Bigil’, an action filled sports drama, has generated mixed revivews from the audience and critics. The film directed by Atlee witnessed a bumper opening on Friday, two days ahead of Deepavali.

Produced on a lavish budget by AGS Entertainment, ‘Bigil’ marks the third association of Kollywood biggies of Atlee and Vijay. It has been released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The film has musical score by Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman and songs went on to become hits soon after the film’s audio launch.

Nayanthara, Vivek, Kathir, Jackie Shroff, Daniel Balaji, Anandraj, Devadarshini, Yogi Babu, Soundararajan, IM Vijayan and others are part of the cast of ‘Bigil’. Meanwhile, on Friday, the Krishnagiri police resorted to lathicharge to disperse fans of Vijay who went on a rampage in the town and damaged public property and shops, upset over the delay in the release of the movie.

According to sources, fans were agitated because of the delay and caused a ruckus by damaging public property. Following this, police personnel were deployed in large numbers and cases have been filed against more than 30 fans of the actor.
