In a surprise twist, STR aka Simbu, who was recently sacked from ‘Maanaadu’ by its makers after he allegedly failed to cooperate with them, is apparently back in the much talked about project.
According to sources, a meditation meeting was held at Tamil Film Producers Council in which ‘Maanaadu’ producer Suresh Kamatchi and Simbu’s mother Usha Rajendhar took part . It is learnt that while Usha maintained that Simbu’s dates had not been utilised effectively by the production house, Suresh Kamatchi accused Simbu of not turning up for the shoot, even after receiving an advance amount of Rs 2 crore.
Finally, thanks to intervention from office-bearers of the council, an amicable solution was arrived at, as per which Usha has promised that her son would regularly attend the shoot and would offer full cooperation in completing the movie. Following this, the movie’s shoot is expected to resume soon.
It was earlier said inordinate delays from the side of Simbu forced Suresh Kamatchi and director Venkat Prabhu to take the bitter decision of dropping the actor from the film. In a statement in August, Kamatchi said that despite repeated attempts, there were only delays and no sign of the film going on floors.
To ensure that his relationship with STR doesn’t sour, he had chosen to drop the actor from the project, he added. For his part, Venkat Prabhu tweeted: “It’s very unfortunate that I couldn’t work with my brother #str in #maanaadu Everything is time-bounded.”
The ‘Mankatha’ and ‘Goa’ maker added: “Considering the amount of emotional and financial pressure that the producer is going through, I have to respect the decision taken by the producer. Thanks for all the love.”
