After a long gap, Ramya Krishnan will act in a film to be directed by her husband Krishna Vamsi. According to sources, Krishna Vamsi has decided to remake Marathi film ‘Natsamrat’ (2016) in Telugu, and he has signed Ramya Krishnan and Prakash Raj as the lead pair.
The original, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, had Nana Patekar and Medha Manjrekare in lead roles. While Prakash Raj will be stepping into the shoes of Nana Patekar, Ramya Krishnan will essay his wife’s role, which was originally played by Medha Manjrekare.
‘Natasamrat’ is a heart-touching drama that presents the tragic family life of a stage artiste, who has retired from acting but is still reeling under the memories of his theatre days.
Meanwhile, Ramya Krishnan is all set to play a major role in Akash Puri’s upcoming film, ‘Romantic’. Anil Paduri is the director while Puri Jagannadh and Charmee Kaur are the producers of ‘Romantic’.
