Vijay-starrer ‘Bigil’ and Karthi-starrer ‘Kaithi’, which are getting ready to hit the screens for Deepavali, have completed the mandatory Censor procedure. Interestingly, both films have been cleared by officials with U/A certificate.
According to sources, U/A was given to ‘Bigil’ and ‘Kaithi’ due to a few scenes in these movies that require parental guidance. It is learnt that both the movies would hit the screens a few days before Deepavali, to cash in on the festival weekend demand.
While ‘Bigil’ is helmed by Atlee in his third partnership with Vijay after ‘Theri’ and ‘Mersal’, ‘Kaithi’ is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of ‘Maanagaram’ fame. Interestingly, Lokesh is now working on Vijay’s 64th film, tentatively titled ‘Thalapathy 64’. ‘Bigil’ is tipped to be a sports-based commercial entertainer, while ‘Kaithi’ is said to be a gripping tale that revolves around a prisoner.
Vijay Sethupathi-starrer ‘Sanga Thamizhan’ too was originally slated to hit the screens for Deepavali. However, the film has now been postponed to November. Tamannah’s ‘Petromax’, which was initially getting ready for Deepavali release, got advanced and saw the light of the day last week itself.
