At last, after keeping his fans in waiting for a long time, Chiranjeevi’s magnum opus ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ hit the screens this morning amid huge expectations and celebrations.
Fans of the ‘Mega Star’ turned theatres into festival venues and welcomed the film with huge celebrations. Special shows started early in the mornings. With today being holiday in view of Gandhi Jayanthi, all shows have been fully booked.
‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’, which is a biopic on a freedom fighter, has Vijay Sethupathi, Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara, Tamannah and others in key roles. Chiranjeevi said recently, “Vijay Sethupathi is the busiest actor right now in Tamil cinema. Producers are waiting for more than two weeks for his dates. But when we asked him to play an important role in the film, he readily agreed for me. Thank You, Vijay Sethupathi.”
Reacting to this, Vijay Sethupathi said that it is his honor and privilege to share screen space with Chiranjeevi in his debut Telugu film. Chiranjeevi also said that SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ gave the team the much-needed courage to produce ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ on a grand scale.
Directed by Surrender Reddy, the film is based on the life of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who was one of the first Indian warriors to fight against British rule. Nayanthara plays the wife of Chiranjeevi in the film while Amitabh Bachchan will be seen as his mentor. The film is produced by Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan.
