RK Suresh of ‘Thaarai Thappattai’ and ‘Marudhu’ fame will play the lead role in the Tamil remake of critically acclaimed Malayalam film ‘Joseph’. Interestingly, the movie will be produced by National Award winning director Bala.
Talking about the project, Suresh says, “Many people tried to bag the rights to make it in Tamil, but somehow Bala managed to get it. From what I heard, among the Mollywood movies of 2018, it was the remake rights of ‘Joseph’ that was sold for the highest price.”
He adds: “This was the most appreciated film of last year by critics and audience, alike. The film was apparently made in a budget for only three crores and collected more than six times the production cost. I felt I should do this film in Tamil because I felt the character essayed by Joju George would suit me.”
According to reports, the shoot of the Tamil version will begin by the end of this year and the makers are targeting March 2020 release. It is also said Suresh will appear in two looks for his character in the film by gaining 20 kilos and shedding 30 kilos respectively.
