Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is playing the lead role in ‘Thalaivi’ directed by Vijay, which is a biopic on former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, is learning Bharathanatyam for the film.
“Jayalalithaa was a great dancer. Hence, Kangana is learning Bharathanatyam from Gayathri Raghuram who has gone to Mumbai. She is hopeful of getting familiar with the dance form soon,” sources say.
Kangana left for Los Angeles recently, to work on the prosthetics, as she will be sporting four different looks in ‘Thalaivi’. It is said Hollywood prosthetics expert Jason Collins, who has worked on films like ‘Blade Runner 2049’ and ‘Caption Marvel’, has been roped in for the project.
Vijay had recently said, “We have locked the final draft, and are now working on finalising the cast and technicians. While Vijayendra Prasad sir came on board a few months ago, we have roped in cinematographer Nirav Shah, GV Prakash and Selva master as well. The film will sketch the life of one of the most wonderful leaders, and so, we are making it a Tamil-Hindi bilingual.”
