It was director Bala who gave a much needed push to the career of Suriya with ‘Nanda’ in the early 2000s. Now, with both requiring a break, they have decided to join hands after ‘Pithamagan’, which released 16 years ago.
According to sources, Bala has readied a gripping script for Suriya and their new film will go floors sometime in January 2020. “Pre-production work has already started,” they add.
It is to be noted that Bala walked out of ‘Varma’, a remake of Telugu blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’, after a fall out with the film’s producers. The film, which was set to mark the debut of Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram, has now been reshot under the title ‘Adithya Varma’.
For his part, Suriya, who has delivered a string of failures in the recent years, is currently shooting for ‘Soorarai Pottru’ directed by Sudha Kongara of ‘Irudhi Suttru’ fame. The film’s shoot is said to be progressing on a brisk note.
