Minister says TN govt wants to tie up with A R Rahman

Oscar-Grammy winner A R Rahman had recently expressed an idea to establish a music museum in Chennai. He had said that the government support was much needed to set up facility.

Rahman also pointed out that the neighbouring State of Karnataka has a music museum in Bengaluru and urged that Chennai should also have one.

Reacting to him, Minister for Tamil Official Language, Tamil Culture and Archeology, K Pandiarajan, said, “If Mr Rahman provided the concept and creative component, the government would be able to arrange the space.”

Pandiarajan also said that the government will set up more galleries. Meanwhile, on the work front, Rahman is currently busy with Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, while ‘Sarkar’ which has Vijay in the lead role will hit the screens for Deepavali.
