Naam Tamizhar Katchi chief coordinator Seeman has said he would welcome if Vijay decides to enter politics. Speaking to the media in Chennai on Friday, he said that in 2006 itself he had spoken about Vijay’s political entry in a television programme.
“When everyone wants to enter politics, why not Vijay? He enjoys people’s support. He is hugely popular after superstar Rajinikanth”, the filmmaker-turned-politician said.
Stating that he considers Vijay as his younger brother and will support him, Seeman further said: “If the people vote for Vijay, I will feel happy and if they vote for him he will be grateful.”
Vijay is currently running Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, an organisation of his fans. Many of his fans are urging him to enter politics for a long time. The actor, while non-commital about entering politics in real life, however loads his films with political punch dialogues.
Hailed as ‘Thalapathy’ by his fans, Vijay is currently busy with ‘Bigil’ directed by Atlee. He will soon start shooting for his 64th film helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of ‘Maanagaram’ fame.
