Aishwarya Rajesh opts out of ‘Indian 2’ and here’s why

Aishwarya Rajesh, who was earlier excited about bagging a role in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ directed by Shankar, has taken a bitter decision to leave the much awaited mega-budget project.

Explaining the reason, the actress said, “I had call sheet problems and could not accommodate the dates the production house wanted for ‘Indian 2’. Hence, we mutually agreed to part ways. I feel really bad.”

The ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ actress, who is currently part of Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Namma Veettu Pillai’ and Mani Ratnam’s production venture ‘Vaanam Kottattum’, added: ” I missed out on working with Shankar sir and Kamal sir. It was a dream project for me. I wish I get a chance to work with them again.”

Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet and Priya Bhavani Shankar are the other female stars who are part of the cast of ‘Indian 2’, being bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Kamal, who is busy with ‘Bigg Boss 3’, is expected to join the sets soon.

According to sources, Siddharth is playing the grandson of Senathipathi and son of Chandru in the sequel. Remember both characters were played by Kamal Haasan in the original. Priya Bhavani Shankar has been paired opposite Siddharth, it is learnt.
