Odisha CM thanks Modi for Centre’s assistancce

Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the additional Central assistance of Rs 3,338.22 crore to the state for the damage caused by cyclone Fani.

According to a statement, the Home ministry said a high-level committee, headed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has approved additional Central assistance of Rs 3338.22 crore to Odisha for the damage caused by the cyclone Fani. The funds will be disbursed from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).

In a tweet, CMO Odisha said, “CM@Naveen_Odisha has thanked PM@nerendramodi for additional central assistance of Rs 3338.22 crore for rebuilding #Odisha after #CycloneFani.”

He added: “This assistance will strengthen the exchequer for restoration of infrastructure and livelihood of millions affected in the state.” 

Biju Janata Dal (BJD) also thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah for sanctioning the amount for assisting restoration work in the cyclone Fani affected districts which were ravaged by the calamity.
