Rajini justifies hailing Modi-Amith Shah as Lord Krishna-Arjuna
With his remarks praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah as Lord Krishna and Arjuna on the Kashmir issue kicking off a political stir, superstar Rajinikanth on Wednesday justified his comments.
“The way they handled the Kashmir issue, they handled it in a diplomatic fashion,” he told journalists in Chennai and added that he likened them to Krishna and Arjun at a function in Chennai on Sunday to indicate that one came up with the plan and another executed it.
“Kashmir is a big issue and related to the nation’s security. The region has become a den for terrorists and extremists. It is like a gateway of India for them to intrude into the country. Under such circumstances, in a diplomatic fashion, the Centre first imposed prohibitory orders, and then kept key leaders like under house arrest,” he said.
Pointing out that Kashmir issue concerns the security of the nation, Rajinikanth said it should not be politicised.
Later, Rajinikanth honoured writer and producer Kalaignanam with the title of Kadhai Chakravarthy at an event organised by the Tamil Kalai Ilakkiya Panpaatu Peravai.
In his address, Rajini said he would gift a house to Kalaignanam and added: “I never had any plans of becoming a hero but Mr. Kalaignanam said he was interested in producing a film with me as the hero.”
