Nayanthara-starrer Tamil film ‘Kolaiyuthir Kaalam’, after facing much delays, was slated to hit the screens this weekend (July 26). However, the film has been once again postponed, this time to August 1.
It is to be noted that the Hindi version of the film ‘Khamoshi’, starring Tamannah and Prabhu Deva in lead roles, released recently and bit the dust at the box office.
The film is directed by Chakri Toleti of ‘Billa 2’ fame and is loosely based on Hollywood film ‘Hush’. Earlier, the film faced an interim stay from the Court after a director named Balaji filed a case claiming the ownership for the title.
Speaking at the trailer launch of Nayanthara-starrer ‘Kolaiyudhir Kaalam’ some months ago, veteran actor Radha Ravi spoke ill of Nayanthara and other actresses. His comments evoked strong protest from various sections and his party, the DMK, even suspended him from the primary membership.
Following his remarks, Nayanthara termed Radha Ravi a misogynist and condemned him for his remarks. She also questioned the audience at the event who applauded Radha Ravi’s sexist remarks.
