Samantha Akkineni, who recently offered support to singer-dubbing artiste Chinmayi Sripada when the latter made sexual allegations under the #MeToo movement, has opened up about her decision to support Chinmayi.
“It was my natural instinct to support her and I’m glad I did. I’ve always spoken out and have had issues in the past because of that. The #MeToo movement has helped in forging a strong sisterhood where women support each other,” she said in an interview to The Hindu.
Samantha added: “I am proud of Chinmayi; it takes a lot of guts to do what she has done. She’s been facing backlash. One shouldn’t have to go through that when you’ve done nothing wrong. I believe that she’s earning a lot of good karma and only good things will happen to her.”
Recently, in a cute video, Samantha kept on pulling Chinmayi Sripada’s leg during the dubbing process of ‘Oh Baby’. And, what follows was some cute rapport and superb fun from the duo.
The clip was entertaining and looked like the duo had a blast while at work. While Samantha has lent her voice for the Telugu version of ‘Oh Baby’, Chinmayi has dubbed for the Tamil version.
