The long-awaited polling for the Nadigar Sangam or the South Indian Artistes’ Association took place on Sunday at Mylapore in Chennai, after a court order.
Kollywood’s key celebrities cast their votes, but the counting of votes will be held only after the court’s approval. The next hearing is scheduled for July 8.
Vishal is contesting against Ishri Ganesh, and Nasser against K Bhagyaraj. Vishal said, “I thank the honourable court for their fair judgment which made these elections possible. You know, it is not possible for me to make every member happy.”
Ganesh stated: “Due to delay in elections, we feel that the polling will be very less. But, the poll officers have done a tremendous job. Over the night they have completed the task. I appreciate the officers and the government.”
With both the factions working hard to woo over 3000 voters, one has to wait and watch to see how the winning team will complete the uphill task of raising funds for the Sangam building.
