Simbu starts shooting for ‘Mufti’ remake

STR aka Simbu has started shooting for the Tamil remake of Kannada super hit film ‘Mufti’. The yet untitled flick is produced by K E Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green and directed by Narthan who made the original Kannada version.

According to sources, Simbu has given twenty-five days call sheet to the film in which he will share the screen space with Gautham Karthik.

“Gautham Karthik plays an undercover cop in the film and STR plays the gangster. Madhan Karky, the popular lyricist-dialogue writer, is penning dialogues for the movie,” sources said.

Simbu is currently busy ‘Maanaadu’ directed by Venkat Prabhu and other projeccts. He recently scored music for Oviya-starrer ’90 ML’ directed by Anitha Udeep.

‘Mufti’ is a 2017 Indian Kannada neo-noir action crime thriller film directed by Narthan, making his debut, and produced by Jayanna Combines.

The film tells the story of a police officer, played by Sriimurali, who tracks down and confronts an underworld boss, played by Shiva Rajkumar.
