There is going to be an intense battle in the much-awaited Nadigar Sangam election (2019-22) to be held on June 23 in Chennai.
While the present set of office-bearers led by Nasser-Vishal will contest as Paandavar Ani, their opponents have come together under K Bhagyaraj-Ishari Ganesh in the name of Swami Sankardas Ani.
Speaking to the media after filing nomination on Sunday, Bhagyaraj said, “Our team has come together with the common interest of ensuring the completion of construction of the Nadigar Sangam building. Many of our members, particularly Ishari Ganesh, have worked a lot for this cause.”
He added: “Ishari Ganesh has been helping out financially with the construction of the building. The incumbent office-bearers say the construction will be completed in another six months, when there are still a lot of financial requirements that are yet to be met. At least, Rs 15 to 20 crore is needed. How will this be done.”
For his part, Vishal said, “Everyone knows that actor S V .Shekar took us to court trying to stop the construction of the building and this had resulted in work coming to a standstill for nearly four months. Despite these delays, the construction of the building will definitely be completed soon and we are totally against members who keep creating problems.”
